William A. Chanler is the author of the genre-crossing novel Son of Terror: Frankenstein Continued and the psychological thriller Terrorized in New York City.
Bestselling author Douglas Preston enjoyed Chanler's sequel to Frankenstein, He posted this review on Audible.com:
“Chanler's novel picks up where Shelley's ends. A wonderful, horrifying, poignant tale. With vivid characters, a spectacular setting, and a frightening and complex plot, I highly recommend this imaginative sequel.”
The book continues the sage of Victor Frankenstein's immortal creation in North America, focusing on his fascination of youung Mary Godwin, an investigative journalist from New York City who is summering on an island in coastal Maine. The book features elements of horror, romance, historical fiction, crime fiction and suspense. The book is available in paperback, ebook and audiobook on Amazon. Here is the link.

In November 2020, Chanler was interviewed on Chat and Spin Radio, based in the UK. He also gave an interview with The Danvers Herald around the same time. He was interviewed on November 15, 2023 by WGME, a Portland Maine TV station, about his books and his participation in Maine Authors for Lewiston, a fundraiser to support charities in Lewiston Maine precipitated by the tragic mass shooting there.
He is also the author of Terrorized in New York City, a psychological thriller primarily set in contemporary Manhattan. It is the story of Mary Godwin, a young investigative journalist, who must overcome extreme adversity or die trying. The novel is out-of-print while the author makes revisions.
““Characters are finely developed…the prose is clear and straightforward…and Chanler capably captures the unsettling events for readers.”

William has been publicizing The Women of Chateau Lafayette, a historical novel by bestselling author Stephanie Dray. His illustrious grandmother, Beatrice Chanler, is a main character. She is the perfect subject of a biography as you may see on her Wikipedia page.
Chanler’s essay, Reminiscences, appears in BULLETIN 2022 DE L’ASSOCIATION DES AMIS DE LA FONDATION SAINT-JOHN PERSE.
The author recently completed the rough draft of Second Chances, a suspense romance about two former lovers who are brought back together by fate a decade after their engagement was cut short.
Chanler was born in New York City and now lives in Massachusetts with his wife. He loves making new memories with family and friends and visiting his favorite places - Maine and New York City.
A little something about my two novels Terrorized in New York City and Son of Terror: Frankenstein Continued. Mary Godwin is a central character in both. That is also Mary Shelley's maiden name.
